Isobel Cosgrove B.A., M.Litt., M.A. (Oxon), MAc.

Isobel Cosgrove taught Human Sciences in the United States, and then at Newcastle and Oxford Universities in the 1960s and '70s. In 1978 she studied Yoga and Tibetan Medicine in Canada, then Chinese Medicine in the UK, and has been in practice since 1981. She taught and directed Acupuncture programmes in the UK and North America, and served on the national executive of the profession. She has always been committed to maintaining high standards of practice and codes of ethics, and now runs training courses in Supervision/Mentoring for Acupuncturists in the UK.

One of her primary professional interests is to support her patients at times of transition; adolescence, leaving home, pregnancy and childbirth, return to work, menopause, retirement and ageing, redundancy and bereavement. She finds that illness often accompanies a time of change and that Acupuncture can help us to move forward into the next stage of life. Isobel is a Fellow of the British Acupuncture Council and is married to Tim Davis. She has two daughters and four grandchildren.

“I have had rheumatoid arthritis for 20 years. Isobel has treated me with skill, care and kindness, and I have always felt supported by her. She treats not just the condition but the whole person. She is an experienced practitioner whom I respect and trust.”
